Demarcation Diaries
28 August 2001
 |
The day began at 4:00 in the morning. The initial sadness
of being awaken for my watch turn so early (how it reminded
me of my night shifts at hospitals!) was replaced by such
a good feeling at the moment I looked up at the sky - so
beautiful that I won't even try to describe it. Lots of
stars, and with the climax of the sunrise.
|
Also worth mentioning the company of good friend Agnaldo from
the Amazon, who also writes for rock fanzines (in his case, punk
rock; in mine, progressive rock - talked about Pink Floyd, the
punk of progressive rock!).
After watch, lots of hours sorting out medications and medical
supplies for the expedition, in fact, probably the majority will
not be used at all (I hope!), but the idea is to be prepared for
accidents that may happen, like snake bites and others. And working
while listening to good progressive rock
(Tempano, Par Lindh Project, etc) is always good. And now my first
update, which will be followed by an entire (I hope again!) night
of sleep - but I want to watch the sunrise again. Let's see...
