Demarcation Diaries

Ian: The crewman
dove under the stern with a hacksaw to remove the cotter
pin from the old prop and put the new prop in place. We
went for a swim from the beach on which the bow of the ship
rested, to distract the jacares from eating the crew said
Ribamar. more

Steve: As we are getting
closer to our target I can feel myself getting anxious. Being
constantly in motion is getting to us. The rainforest is passing
by at a constant pace, day after day. It makes you realise how
huge this area is and yet it is always out of reach. I feel an
urge to touch, feel and smell it. more
Kontau: As time goes
by, we also feel closer to each other, and have a stronger sense
of working as a team. Last evening, me, Steve and Ian had a good
conversation about the work that Greenpeace is doing in our countries
(China, UK, and Nordic countries), and what are the challenges
and opportunities as Greenpeace becomes really global. more
Márcio: It
was Captain Flavio's birthday! There was a barbecue at one beautiful
beach (you can imagine the amount of mosquitoes!). The best thing
was the opportunity to walk and watch the beautiful sky, finally
listening to the sounds of the jungle without the noise of the
boat's engine. more
