Demarcation Diaries
17 September 2001
We've got a Deni Indian, Samunavi, joining us today. Petros and Ademar went
early this morning with the boadeira to pick him up from Cidade
Zina. After some negotiation with the wife, they convinced him to come with us. They also found the two
"fugitive" ones, Cuama and Cutuvi, at the river side. They were
still one day walking from the village. They left us two days ago: big
mistake. Anyway, they found them and gave them a ride to the town.
Everybody made fun of them when they saw them giving up and coming back. They both were laughing as well. The Deni make fun out of everything...
We had some comunication problems today with the radio and the
satphone, but it seems everything is solved, for now.
Petros and Zigirivi are trying to teach each other Greek and Deni.
