Crew Profiles Paul Ruzycki , Second Mate Previous Index Next     Paul Ruzycki is Canadian and a sailor by trade. He came to work for Greenpeace in 1988 from the Canadian merchant navy after despairing at the state of the marine environment and because he "wanted to make a difference". He has worked on campaigns including actions against nuclear submarines, oil in the Barents Sea, the Mediterranean and the Gulf of Mexico, anti-nuclear testing in the South Pacific, clearcutting of forests in Canada and Russia, anti-whaling in the Norwegian and North Seas, overfishing in the Sea of Okhost, Arctic and Atlantic Oceans, and now the climate change campaign in the Arctic.
