Diary entry by Catherine, Campaigner Following a stormy, foggy morning in Dutch Harbour in the Aleutian Islands, the Arctic Sunrise set sail for St. Lawrence Island. Crew and campaigners keep busy with maintenance, cleaning, repairs,writing, and planning for upcoming stops.It's a 670 mile journey from Dutch to St. Lawrence. The Sunrise sailed through strong winds and grey skies Tuesday and Wednesday. Waves smashed the portholes, rain drenched the deck and everything from coffee pots to computers is lashed down for the duration.
