SOLAR CONTACTS IN THE U.K.
Greenpeace would like to see regional electricity companies providing their customers with affordable solar electricity. At present we do not know if the U.K. electricity companies will have enough vision to make this investment in a solar future.
Until they do, solar power will remain an expensive option for homeowners.
However, we know that some people will want to help start the solar revolution by installing solar panels on their own homes, even without the financial assistance of the regional electricity companies.

The British Photovoltaic Associaction (P.V.U.K.) Most of the companies, academic institutions and individuals who work on and/or are interested in solar power in the U.K. belong to this association. The association provides information on solar power to individuals and companies. They will be able to a dvise you as to whether it would bepossible to install solar panels on your property, and will put you in touch with suppliers and installers of solar panels who operate in your area of the U.K.
Ove Arup Consultant Engineers Ove Arup’s are the leading experts in installing solar panels on commercial properties (offices etc.). They were responsible for the installation of the solar panels on the Northumberland Building in Newcastle - the first commercial building in the U.K. to have solar power (see Solar Power in the U.K.)
They would be a good contact if you are interested in installing solar panels on an office or other large building.
Wind and Sun Wind and Sun specialise in small-scale installations of solar panels and wind turbines. They can advise on the feasibility of installing solar panels on individual homes, and are able to do installations themselves.
