Goodbye Cape Town

This morning, after getting a late evening briefing from the captain, we left Cape Town. It was a beautiful clear, still morning and everyone looked glad to be in action again.

The sudden morning departure hints at adventure to come but of course, what that adventure may be, remains a secret for now.

For me the challenge is continuing work inside without getting seasick! The sea was calm in Cape Town but there is an ominous note on the notice board warning of possible rough seas to come.

It did get a little rough for a while and there were a few green faces early on but it calmed down later in the day and I'm happy to say that I've survived my first day at sea with my pride intact. And now I'm off to the mess for dinner.
