Hello, My name is Arne.

I live in Denmark.

I am the captain of the ESPERANZA and therefore ultimately
responsible for everything that happens onboard the ship.

It is worthwhile working for Greenpeace because we do on
occasion manage to make a difference, to promote a change for
the better - or more specifically towards a safer and cleaner earth.

The Earth Summit is a unique opportunity for the leadership of the
countries of the earth to agree on genuinely sustainable
development. Hopefully our presence in South Africa might assist
them in focussing on that task.

It is very fortunate that we have just had the opportunity to put the
spotlight on the nuclear industry and particularly the plutonium
issue: from every aspect dirty and unsustainable and as well a
terrible security and proliferation risk.
