Jesse
Deckhand
/ Troubador
Born in rural Canada, Jesse calls New
Orleans home. Sailing under
the Greenpeace flag as a deckhand/troubador for over
5 years, he
has participated in environmental campaigns worldwide.
I began working with Greenpeace when
the Canadian government
was inking a deal to sell Candu reactors to China, and
then went to
the west coast to protest clearcut logging in British
Columbia.
Most recently, I was down near Antarctica
making an attempt to
stop Japanese whaling, which is a completely unnessary
operation.
Having seen many devastating environmental
problems,
there is nothing I'd rather be doing than trying to
play the role of
catalyst. One small voice can make a difference. I currently
reside
in New Orleans, playing folk music and practising voodoo.
