Mannes
Second
Engineer
My name is Mannes and I am the second engineer
on board of the M.V. Esperanza.
I helped out during the conversion of the
Esperanza and I can say
that I feel proud to see what we have achieved together, so
thanks to all of you!!
I have been a member of Greenpeace for a
long time and for two years I have sailed as an engineer on
the Greenpeace ships.
Climbing has always been one of my passions
and I grew up with
boat driving with the Dutch rescue service, and that's quite
handy
ballast to have during actions.
I always walked on the green side of life
and since my introduction to the Greenpeace ships I became
more aware of the possible changes that we can make together
to make this world a more green and better place.
It is a long road, but the awareness' that
so many people are on the
same frequency, are supporting us and that every now and then
we really make a change, gives me the energy to go on. Again,
thanks for all of you
And a special thanks to the people that got
arrested during the
action on Koeberg nuclear power plant, nice job!! The ship
is quiet without you, but replacements are already waiting
to continue your work.
We will meet again.
