Re: Choosing not to buy ancient forest destruction

Dear [name],

I am writing to request information regarding the sourcing of the [wood and/or paper] products [imported/processed/sold] by your company.

As you are probably aware, 80% of the world's large tracts of ancient forest have already been destroyed or degraded. Illegal and destructive logging, to produce products such as plywood, window frames and even toilet paper, is now the largest single threat to the forests that remain - and the rich biodiversity within them. As a consumer, I demand the right to choose NOT to contribute to the destruction of the remaining ancient forests and am writing to request written evidence of your company's purchasing policy in relation to ancient forest products.

I would also like to see evidence that your company supports independent FSC certification* and that the wood and paper products you [import/process/sell] come from FSC certified, well managed forests and not from ancient forest destruction.
