Introduction

 Papua New Guinea is blessed with vast tracts of rainforests and unparalleled biodiversity. These forests are threatened by multinational logging companies racing to cut the forests. Greenpeace works with the Environmental Law Alliance (E-Law US) and the Environmental Law Centre to challenge the institutions that are destroying forests. We have been working to empower local communities with resources to protect their land from exploitation and maintain it for generations to come. Greenpeace, ELC and E-Law US have used litigation, policy advocacy and community education to defend PNG's forests.
