2 Mar 2002 - More than 150 children and
adolescents were named "heroes of the African rainforest".
The children made drawings, paintings, poetry and songs for
their own ancient forests youth gallery. Daniel Ombala won
first prize for his painting (above, right) called "Mankind
Needs to Understand". Kids for Forests in Cameroon have
collected more than 3,000 signatures from young people calling
for the protection of ancient forests.
