Greenpeace is inviting everyone who wants to help save ancient forests to take part in the "Kids for Forests" project. Children, teens, youth groups, teachers and schools from all over the world are joining in, because everyone can do a little to help the forests, and every effort is important!
You can help ancient forests:
Send an animal ecard to a friend - spread the word about the ancient forest crisis, and ask them to get involved in the campaign.
Those of you who want to be really active can become Ancient Forests Ambassadors. Ancient Forest Ambassadors represent the interests of ancient forests. They start up campaigns, distribute leaflets and lists for collecting signatures, write articles for school newspapers, carry out "ancient forest inspections" of schools, sports halls, and youth centres, invite online friends to ancient forest activities, advise fellow students about school materials that are kind to forests and much more...
Contribute to the Ancient Forest Treasure Chest.
It doesn't matter whether you organise a small group or a bigger ancient forest campaign - paint your own ancient forest banners, write a story, draw a picture, build a sculpture, act out play - whatever you do, take photos and send them to us [LINK TO SUBMIT FORM]. Check out the "Ancient Forest Action Ideas".
We want to show your photos and drawings in the virtual ancient forest gallery. Any pictures and banners you send us will go in the "Ancient Forest Treasure Chest" - to be delivered to politicians at the CBD in Kuala Lumpur/Malaysia.
Schools for ancient forests
Make your school ancient forest friendly. Is the paper from ancient forest friendly sources (is it recycled paper, for example)? When your school buys things made from wood, where does it come from? Students can ask questions and make an inspection. Does your school make the grade? If not, than improve it!
The entire school can get involved in finding ways not to use stuff made from ancient forest wood. If everyone from students right through to teachers takes part, it's a great example of how genuine protection of ancient forests really works. Here are some ideas to help get you started. Remember to send us your photos for the gallery - so everyone can see another example of an ancient forest friendly school.
Ssend a message for a "forest friend".
