the Swiss oil industry
 
BASEL, Switzerland 22 March 1995 (GP) Greenpeace activists in
inflatables today blocked an oil tanker from navigating a water
lock at Basel Harbour in Switzerland, demanding that the oil
industry, as a number one climate killer, take measures to help
stop climate change.
 
Two inflatable boats, launched from Greenpeace vessel BELUGA,
came in between the Swiss-registered oil tanker PIZ LONGHIN as it
tried to enter the lock at 12.40 pm today. 
 
Greenpeace has also pitched its demands to the Swiss Oil
Organization, asking it to support the CO2 tax and, in view of
the upcoming Berlin climate summit, to support a 20% reduction of
CO2 emissions for the year 2005 by all industrialised
countries.
