Stop Plutonium Terror

Statement of opinion from members of the Welsh National Assembly

"This National Assembly supports the Nuclear Free Seas Flotilla from Pembrokeshire in its role as part of a global protest against the shipment of rejected plutonium mixed oxide [MOX] , due to leave Japan for the United Kingdom in early July. The MOX shipment containing 255 kgs of weapons -usable plutonium, is being returned to Sellafield after British Nuclear Fuels [BNFL] admitted to falsifying critical safety data. The route to be taken is still unknown but the shipment will have to pass through the Irish Sea. This raises questions of huge threats of nuclear proliferation, terrorism and accidents. It is dangerous, unlawful and must be stopped."
