Nuclear technology is not the answer to the reduction of carbon emissions
In November this year, the Parties to the United Nations' Climate Change Convention will meet in The Hague, The Netherlands, to continue negotiations on the Kyoto Protocol.
Among the most controversial issues to be discussed is whether nuclear power should be an eligible technology for the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), a part of the Protocol designed to promote sustainable, projects that reduce carbon emissions in developing countries.
