Name: Bent
Position on board: Chief engineer
Nationality: Germany
History with Greenpeace: I have worked for Greenpeace for two years now, since February 2000.
In 1987, I travelled the Amazon River for three months. It is my favourite forest.
Years later, a friend who worked for Greenpeace was asked to be an engineer on the Amazon Guardian. He couldn't go, and suggested that I take his place. I felt it was a good time for me to return to the Amazon so I took the job, and that's how I started with Greenpeace.
Favourite action: My favourite action was on board the Arctic Sunrise protesting the "star wars" missile defence program, which I consider totally unworkable and as well as destabilizing. We went on the Sunrise into the splash down site off the coast of California to try and stop the test. In the end they fired the missile with us in the danger zone.
