History with Greenpeace: I have been sailing with Greenpeace since 1990, but did not do any Greenpeace trips for a while. I did spend six out of the last twelve months on Greenpeace ships.

One day, when I was a commercial sailor I called up the job centre. They told me that there was a job available with Greenpeace. I thought to myself, "Why is Greenpeace looking for commercial applicants? They need someone who will do it for the right reasons, not just to have a job". So, I called Greenpeace and said, "Yes, I want the job", because what they do is really something I believe in. A week later, I was working on board MV Solo.

Favourite forest: Kruger Park, South Africa.

Likes best about the Esperaza: That she is very manoeuvrable, don't need tugs and it's safe.
