Walking through a eucalyptus forest on the beautiful island of Madeira (Portugal) is one of my best forest experiences. It smelled wonderful, and the leaves are shaped beautifully.

Another favourite forest experience is working in the Forest Campaign office... I have been working there for a little over a year, as a volunteer. One of my tasks there is to answer the questions that come in via the forests page on the international website.

The more I learn about forest issues, the stronger I feel about them. It feels good to use and develop my skills to help save the ancient forests!

Here I'm helping out with translating and editing press releases, and trying to get the right information to the right place on time. When I visited the Esperanza in Amsterdam during the public open boat day, I could never have imagined actually going to sea on it.

I like life on the Esperanza, it's a bit mad and chaotic, but very exciting!
