I have been sailing with Greenpeace for just over 2 years now.
Becoming a crewmember was a sudden and unexpected
opportunity for me and involved some very rapid decision-making -
possibly among the best I ever made.
Although sometimes it is
sad to see how humans seem hell bent on destroying the world, it
is compensated for by working with interesting people from all
over the world who are very committed to the work they do.
I am lucky enough to come from a country that still has large tracts
of native forests. It is still easy to enjoy the tranquillity and beauty
of areas far from human habitation (or sometimes conveniently
nearby). I want my children's children and their children to be able
to enjoy natural surroundings in the way that I have.
It is great to be part of the early voyages and campaigns of this
latest addition to the Greenpeace fleet and I am really looking
forward to whatever the next few months holds for us.
