Name: Sarah
Position on Board: Bosun
Nationality: British
History with Greenpeace: I started sailing in 1998
on the Warrior although I have been a member of Greenpeace
since my teens (when, like many a teenager, I was single
handedly going to change the world). Working with this organisation,
and particularly on the ships has provided such an excellent
way to feel kind of useful in some way. - I really like
that. Sometimes we really DO stuff! We are making changes.
Favourite Forest or Best Tree Experience: Right
now we are doing a forestry campaign in Europe, which I
guess is what this tree bit is about. I have to say the
campaign is great. It is designed to hit the logging industry
where it hurts - that is, their markets. I've had amazing
experiences in different forests on this planet. Seeing
what's left of those gigantic beauties as they get unloaded
of the log ships at this end however, is a different story
altogether. It is an honour to be able to help Greenpeace
in its effort to stop this destruction of ancient forests.
