Lesley and her apple pie

Having a swell time

By Lesley, assistant cook. 13 March. Hi there! Thought I'd tell you that the Warrior is going through some interesting sea swells now. They are interesting because with different swells, different accidents happen. Just now one cup jumped off the wall. Why only one cup?

Anyway, Marco has surprised me by producing a wonderful Bob Marley CD, so Bob is singing away in the galley as me and Marco chop veggies for lunch and dinner. Another interesting thing I've discovered is that most of the things we eat can roll. Think about it…onions do. So do tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, apples, oranges. The list is endless and they will all roll if I let them, so I have to hold them down with damp t-towels.

So - what's been happening since we set out to sea again? Not much really, but I did make the biggest apple pie ever last nite. It looked so good that I got Daniel to take a photo of it so I can show it to Thelm (my mum) when I get home.

Another lovely thing that happened yesterday was something I shared with Rodrigo. I went up on deck just before supper and headed to the arse-end (sorry, stern) of the Warrior. The sun was setting over the sea and I sat there to watch it. Rodrigo sat behind me playing his drum. He drummed the sun down and it was fantastic. Thanks Rodrigo, that was a very special sunset.

OK - well, we have fire drill in a minute and I am the 'shut the vents and get the fire extinguishers out' monitor. I'd better go and get some extra layers on cos it's a bit windy outside.

Bye
Les
