PVC was completely avoided in the Sydney 2000 Olympic stadium seating
and plumbing. The multi-use arena had no PVC in the seating, cabling,
floor coverings, wall finishes or plumbing. If it can be done at the Olympics,
it can be done anywhere!
This international database is intended to help anyone from do-it-yourself
enthusiasts to construction companies track down alternatives to PVC products.
This Greenpeace website shows that for most, if not all, uses of PVC
in construction, there are easily available alternatives supplied by a
range of companies. In many cases, these products are distributed worldwide.
The database can be searched
by product and by country to locate suitable suppliers for your needs.

The database cannot provide all the answers to specification
needs, but can provide information on the wealth of available alternatives
for the most popular applications. By providing this information, Greenpeace
does not endorse any company or product, or imply that one product or
manufacturer is better than another. Greenpeace urges purchasers to study
the alternatives closely as many of the companies listed also supply products
made of PVC.
