Sunday
January 13th  -  Day 46

.
We work a six-day week on the ship. Sunday is the day off for most of us. People still have to stand watch, email has to be downloaded and some other jobs have to get done, but generally the crew can take it easy.

I took a stroll around the ship at 14.30, and here is what some people were doing with their day off:

On the bridge, Jo is on watch and Andy is chatting with her about ship's business while enjoying the sunny weather.

Kieran is taking a nap.

Jim has just woken up, and is getting a bite to eat. Sarah joins him for a snack.

Phil is doing some extra maintenance work on the helicopter.

Mehdi was up until four a.m. writing emails to friends. Now I see him back at the engineers' computer doing some paper work.

In the darkroom, Jeremy is showing pictures he took in New York City shortly after September 11th.

Jesse is in the lounge watching "National Lampoon's European Vacation" by himself, but he doesn't look like he's enjoying it.

Neil is in the radio room, reinstalling Windows on a troublesome computer.

As for me, even the cooks need a day off. So after I write this, I'll start making dinner for the crew. What are we having? Homemade pizza.
