This is the sixth time I've worked on a Greenpeace ship, and I've been on board this one longer then I expected (over four months now). In fact, I didn't think we'd leave the Mediterranean, and was short on warm clothes till I raided the second hand clothes bin.

Iceland is the furthest north I've ever been in my life. The scenery here is fantastic. Like I said the other day, while trying to somehow take a picture of the entire fjord we were sailing into, "There is too much beauty to fit in my camera!" So far, I've found people here to be friendly and admirably up front about their opinions.

I feel lucky to get to see such a place, and meet these people, but I wish it were under different circumstances. This is a familiar feeling, working on a Greenpeace ships. Hopefully, one day I will get to visit some of these places again. Really, there is much more to Iceland than this whaling issue, but of course it's a distraction I can't help thinking about while here.
