What history do you have with the campaign to save the whales?
I've been writing comments on the issue to newspapers, and have been published a couple of times. When were not at sea I show people around and inform them about the Rainbow Warrior and Greenpeace's activities, especially the whaling campaign. I also develop material for the campaign.

Why is this issue/the Rainbow Warrior going to Iceland important to you?
We need to show the Icelandic government and the rest of the world that whale hunting is not acceptable for economic nor whale population reasons. I don't want to risk that we end up with a simular situation that we had for 14 years ago - before Iceland had to stop their commercial whaling. Whaling is a part of Icelands past, and the whale watching industry a part of its future.

Why did you start working with Greenpeace?
Because someone has to clean up the mess past generations has made. I want to reduce the amount of suffering enviremental destruction leads to. One way of succeeding in this is to work with an organisation that has enough resources to do so in a effective way.

What do you love (or hate) about working at sea?
I love to watch all the animals I wouldn't see from land. The minke whales, killer whales, dolphins and so on. I hate not to be able to have enough privacy because of the limited space in the ship.
