Stop Plutonium Terror

Join our Virtual Flotilla

Help us form a virtual blockade across the oceans to stop BNFL and the Japanese plutonium industry turning them into nuclear highways. Greenpeace has launched a virtual flotilla on the Greenpeace Planet website for people who want to join the growing opposition to this shipment.

The commitment of people in the Pacific, Cape Horn and Irish flotillas is both inspiring and courageous. One individual’s action can make a difference. Even if you can’t sail a boat into the path of a nuclear transport, you can show your opposition.

For those of us watching from home, joining our virtual flotilla will show our support for the brave activists out on the rough seas. You can also talk with other people speaking out against nuclear transports and participate in cyberactions throughout the transport route.

BNFL, Japanese utility Kansai Electric, and the British and Japanese governments have ignored protests against plutonium shipments. Two armed BNFL ships have just completed a journey of 18,000 miles from Japan to the UK to return the faulty plutonium-uranium mixed oxide material (MOX) which the same ships delivered in 1999.

We have to keep the pressure on the decision makers who can 'do the right thing' and make this the last such shipment of madness as well as putting a stop to the deadly plutonium trade. Please visit Greenpeace's cybercentre and join the community.
